Kirby Sykes Design is a New York-based interior design firm with a focus on thoughtfully curated, art focused residential and commercial projects. Kirby’s vast experience in the art industry coupled with her passion for sourcing historically significant, aesthetically unique vintage design and modern art layered with materiality, texture, color and form is at the core of her design philosophy.

Upon completing an undergraduate degree in Art History from Texas Tech University, Kirby received a Master’s degree in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York and began her career under the tutelage of esteemed art dealers Barry Friedman and Marc Benda of Friedman Benda in Chelsea. There she spent several years developing a discerning eye for modern and contemporary design, working on notable exhibitions for artists including Ettore Sottsass, Joris Laarman, Ron Arad, the Campana Brothers and Wendell Castle. While at Friedman Benda, she also worked on the late Wendell Castle’s Catalogue Raisonne´. Kirby went on to attend the New York School of Interior Design and worked for high-end interior designers before launching her eponymous firm.
